Jesus’ prayer in John 17 makes some claims that clash with traditional religious thinking. When we run across scripture that challenges worldviews and perspectives we previously held we have to make a decision. Are we going to agree or disagree with God? In John 17 Jesus speaks of how we’ve been complete and made perfect through our union with God.
